These are two movies by the same director set in the same setting. Summary 1:

The film consists of two stories told in sequence, each about a Hong Kong policeman and his relationship with a woman. The first story stars Takeshi Kaneshiro and Brigitte Lin and the second stars Tony Leung, Faye Wong and Valerie Chow.
The Chinese title translates to "Chungking Jungle", referring to the metaphoric concrete jungle of the city, as well as to Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui, where much of the first part of the movie is set. The English title refers to Chungking Mansions and the Midnight Express food stall where Faye works. |
The second story is kinda boring but still funny to watch since it goes on about nothing:p

Fallen Angels can be seen as a companion piece to Chungking Express. Fallen angels is much more action packed and overall a much better movie with loads of references to chungking express as well. I liked it a lot better than chungking express as well.
